Ella Purnell, the breakout star of Prime Video’s hit series Fallout, has been making waves with updates about the show’s highly anticipated second season. Fresh off winning the 2024 Canneseries Madame Figaro Rising Star Award, Purnell revealed exclusive details at MegaCon Orlando about Lucy MacLean’s chaotic journey ahead—including “big twists” even die-hard fans won’t predict.
The “Poop Finger” Saga Continues
Purnell joked about one unexpected challenge: Lucy’s infamous severed-and-reattached finger, which required daily prosthetic makeup she nicknamed “poop finger.” “It’s the bane of my life,” she admitted, explaining how crews paint a pale, rotting prosthetic on her hand for hours each day. Despite the hassle, she confirmed Lucy’s gruesome accessory will remain a key visual gag in Season 2.
Fallout’s Post-Apocalyptic Expansion
Filming for Season 2 is already underway, with Purnell teasing “a wild ride” that expands beyond Vault 33’s confines. While tight-lipped on specifics, she hinted at darker character dynamics and new factions emerging in the irradiated wasteland. The series—Amazon’s highest-rated original show—has already been renewed through Season 3.
Yellowjackets Return & New Projects
Purnell will also reprise her role as Jackie Taylor in Showtime’s Yellowjackets Season 3 (premiering late 2025), appearing in flashbacks and hallucinations. Meanwhile, she’s executive producing and starring in Sky’s dark comedy Sweetpea, playing morally chaotic protagonist Rhiannon Lewis.
With Arcane Season 2 wrapping Jinx’s story and Star Trek: Prodigy returning later this year, 2025 solidifies Purnell as one of Hollywood’s most versatile rising stars—even if she’s still scrubbing fake rot off her finger nightly.
