New Era Begins
Under fifth-year head coach Mitch Canham (.669 winning percentage), Oregon State opened its inaugural independent season strong at the Round Rock Classic in Texas. The No. 7-ranked Beavers defeated Virginia 8-3 on February 21 behind dominant pitching from Travis Bazzana (3 RBI) and Bridger Holmes (4 strikeouts in relief) .

Athletic director Scott Barnes confirms the Beavers will play national opponents through at least 2027 while exploring conference options. “This independence allows scheduling flexibility our fans deserve,” Barnes stated during preseason media days.
